A whole new way of training your abdominal muscles
No-risk abs® : a progressive protocol of movements
This method is based on a program of 10 courses. Each session is one hour of movements of the No-Risk Abs© method, chosen and structured by Blandine Calais-Germain, physiotherapist and writer of the books “Anatomy of Movement”.
From one course to another, each series of movements becomes more detailed and physical. During the first classes, a lot of basic know how is infused step-by-step.
No-Risk Abs® is more than a series of safe exercises (for the intervertebral discs, perineum or abdominal wall), it is a new way of working the abdominal muscles by constantly combining reinforcement, alternation, stretching and coordination of these muscles in movement.
Presentation of the 10-classes serie
The exercises are different from what is usually practiced in abdominal classes.
We not only strengthen the abdominal muscles, but also stretch, relax and coordinate them with other important muscles of the body, that is why exercises vary constantly.
Breathing used during No-Risk Abs© classes are different from the one usually practiced in abdominal series.
The protocol sometimes looks like yoga or floor gym, sometimes like breathing training, sometimes like dance. But it all aims at the same goal, to strengthen the abdominal muscles.
Sensations during the No-Risk Abs© training are not similar to the one you may know from usually working these muscles.
You shouldn’t be surprised if you don’t have achiness or stiffness after the class. These do not prove the work was correctly done. And No-Risk Abs© is precisely built to avoid them. Alternating stretches and contractions allows each muscle to be drained for better circulation ; the different layers of muscles are like massaged on one another.
You should also not be surprised if sometimes you don’t feel the abdominal muscles work. The class always look for coordination between muscles and with those around, opposite or complementary. In many exercises, this muscle of the abdomen will be used in synergy with a corresponding back muscle. You may thus feel the back muscles work as much as the abdominals.

Are these exercises really without risks ?
No bodywork can be said to be for the simple reason that movement changes the balance of the body. The No-Risk Abs© protocol was built from the anatomy of the body. For someone who would like to have some physical training, it has been created to avoid the risk inherent to the strengthening of the abs.
Only professionally certified teachers are authorized by Blandine Calais-Germain to teach the whole protocol.
