Yoga means “union” in sanskrit
A class is usually composed of a serie of postures (asana) where the movement is synchronized with the breath and done lying, standing, kneeling… We add breathwork (pranayama) and sound (mantra), relaxation and meditation, to allow the body and the mind to integrate and appreciate the effects of the practice.
Benefits can be gained from the first class and raise with regular practice : strengthening and flexibility of muscles, tissus and joints ; detox and stimulation of the different systems (nervous, respiratory, circulatory, visceral, digestive, immune, hormonal) ; posture and sleep improvement ; creativity, relaxation, presence and good mood !
The yoga I teach is rooted in classical indian Hatha yoga, yet infused with mindfulness, neuroscience, integrative psychology, and movement studies in a modern Western context.
I intend to share the powerful tools of the yoga and mindfulness traditions to help people with general wellness and stress resilience, as well as mind-body issues such as anxiety, insomnia, depression, chronic pain, immune-related disorders, and performance-related issues in athletes.
I gratefully accompany women through pregnancy and post-partum, for their well-being in such an important stage of life for the body and the mind of a woman.
I also joyfully take kids through the stories and adventures of modern time yogis and yoginis !
